Those Magic TV Moments...
Do you remember the soap's first black super couple, Angie and Jesse from All My Children? 
Well, they're back! 
And all I can say is black don't crack for real! Debbie Morgan and Darnell Williams have reprised their roles on All My Children and they look like they haven't aged a bit it the twenty years that have passed. I have to admit this super couple predates my soap addiction. I vaguely remember some of their story line. But I didn’t really become hooked on soaps until college. I wasn’t so addicted that I scheduled my classes around them or anything, but…. Anyway, I have weaned myself off of the soaps too many times to count. And now they’ve taunted me by bringing the first black super couple back, complete with a “back from the dead” storyline. You know I couldn’t resist. I mean there’s no secret baby or anything… But back from the dead is just as intriguing to me. I had to see what she would do when she saw him after twenty years. I knew what I would do. I would hug him and kiss him and cry and scream and just be so happy before I hauled off and slapped him and said, “Nucca! Where the hell have you been for 20 damn years?” But this is daytime TV we’re talking about and I guess they didn’t want to go there. I know I’m probably the only one who has been sucked in by the return of Angie and Jesse. I’m the only one watching it on Soap Net when she comes home at night. But at least the return of Angie and Jesse has cured me of my Food Network addiction for now….

I can't really say I remember them, but I think I do remember my mother and her friend girls always on the phone with their soap opera gossip.
I definitely remember turning the TV to All My Children and General Hospital though. How many times? lol.
I remember...wow, she is so lovely, I hadnt seen him in years. She is almost sixty, isnt that amazing...

I so remember Angie and Jesse-even though I was young as all get out. They were the best story on TV. Snap. I didn't know he was coming back. Shoot, I'm going to be watching now. Girl, I'm doing a happy dance in chair now.

I've always liked Debbi Morgan. She still looks fabulous. As for Darnell Williams, he seems to have fallen off the radar, but he looks good, too!
Don ~ I can just imagine your mom and her friends. If they sounded anything like me and my girlfriends in undergrad you probably thought they were talking about real people. LOL.
Angelia ~ She looks amazing. The woman doesn't age. It must be the dimples. LOL.
Adrianne ~ Every time I call myself quiting the soaps it's usually because they jack up the black folk's story lines. I'll be watching All My Children as long as they keep Angie and Jesse on there and don't jack up the come back. I can't help it... I have to watch it... LOL.
Bettye ~ Yeah, I was wondering what ever happened to him. He really fell off the radar. I heard he was directing the soaps for a bit. So I'm thinking he's been behind the scenes.
I remember Jessie and Angie. Dang they look better now than they did back in the day! hee... What's a soap opera without a good 'back from the dead' storyline? I had no idea they were coming back... glad to see they are gracing the small screen again. :-}
Don't watch soap operas. I'm one of those strange homemakers who always watched Star Trek re-runs instead.

I LOVED Jesse and Angie, and I'm glad to see they're back on TV. Just like you, I've sworn off the soaps several times. The last time was in 2002 when I got laid off from my job. So far, I'm stiil hanging in there. Don't tempt me...

Chiki ~ I know how you feel. When I saw the commercials for their return I was like, "NOOOOO! I can't be sucked back in." But I couldn't resist. I had to see how she would react when they finally came face to face again. And you know the soaps had to drag it out for weeks. They just came face to face on Friday. LOL.

I hadn't heard this. My all-time favorite soap is AMC and my all-time favorite characters were Angie and Jesse.
I'm at home with two children today (pink eye). I'm thinking it's time for lunch so they can be down for naps before 1 pm. Gotta go!

Patricia ~ Just don't get hooked... or better yet, don't blame me if you get hooked. LOL. I know what it's like to get sucked back into the soaps. And we here at Gwyneth's Blog are not responsible for people who end up losing their "soap-briety" because of anything posted here on the blog. :-)
Don ~ LOL. They sound familiar. They sound like my mother and her friends back in the day talking about Victor and Nikki on the Young and the Restless and me and my friends in college talking about Tad and Dixie... LOL. We stayed talking about the soaps too. Or as we called them "the stories" as in, "Girl, did you catch the stories today. Did you see what..." LOL.
I so remember Angie and Jessie! I wasn't supposed to watch the soaps at that time (I swear I must have been six or seven years old), but I can remember my aunt and older cousin watching these two. I caught a few peeks when they weren't paying attention. :)
No chance, Gwyneth! I'm not home during the day and I don't believe in Tivo! (Because VCRs were the death of me back in the day!)
But it was nice to see Angie, Jesse, and even Frankie (who doesn't look like I imagined him) all grown up.
Back to the real world...

Patricia ~ I thought he sort of looked like he could be related to Darnell Williams. So it seemed like a good casting call... I'm about to stop watching them myself... in a minute... for real... ;-) Well, especially now that the writer's strike is over and I can watch regular TV again in the evenings. I won't have to watch Soap Net and Food Network to escape the never ending reruns and reality TV shows and game shows...

Its official I'm old because I loved me some Jessie and Angie. Didn't miss All my Children and Days of My life when I was young.
I saw the announcement and went to the site to catch up. Haven't seen the show because I refuse to get sucked up again. They caught me for a minute when they brought back Bo and Hope.
